Winter Camping

Ever want to “visit the snow”?    Do you want to share the beauty of the snow sparkling in sun with crystal clear blue skies or reflecting the glory of the starlight and our Milky Way galaxy at night?   Now is your chance!   Yes!   We are open in the winter!  Camp Sky Meadows is located at 5,800 ft. elevation. Snow sometimes falls as early as October and as late as June.  We are available for retreats in the winter!  Enjoy a roaring fire inside at night after a day of play in the snow. All Lodges, Cabins and the Bathhouse are heated.

Check snow conditions!

Before you leave home, make sure your chains/cables fit your tires. Occasionally, the camp is inaccessible without chains or 4-wheel drive. Check weather conditions before you start out. For road conditions, call (800) 427-7623 and follow prompts.  It is advised to carry snow chains/cables any time you are in the mountains since the California Highway Patrol usually requires all vehicles, including 4-wheel drives, to carry chains/cables from November 1 to April 1.
